Saleem and Ameez, to officiate in India's I-League matches

Male', MALDIVES - To ensure a high standard of officiating in the ongoing professional I-League, All India Football Federation has roped in two referees from the Maldives to supervise some of the matches of the competition.

Ali Saleem and Ahmed Ameez will be refereeing some I-League games to be played in Goa between December 9 to 23, a Federation release said on Thursday.

AIFF and the Football Association of Maldives have an exchange programme for referees under which two Indians, S Suresh and Rizwan-ul-Haq, have officiated matches in Maldives this year.

Matches in Indian domestic football are often plagued by disputes over refereeing decisions with players and team managements registering protests over this matter.
